For more than 33 years, the compassionate, well-trained staff at Genesis Learning Centers has provided the greater Middle Tennessee community  with quality education for unique and special students. We are dedicated professionals working for the betterment of our students while we are committed to providing the best possible climate for development and maximum achievement of our goals for all employees.

Working at Genesis Learning Centers

We are committed to providing the best possible climate for development and maximum achievement of our goals for all employees.  Our practice is to 1) treat each employee as an individual, 2) always seek to develop the spirit of teamwork, and 3) facilitate individuals working together to attain common goals.

In order to maintain an atmosphere where these goals can be accomplished, we have provided a workplace, which is comfortable and progressive.  Most importantly, we have a workplace where communications are open and problems can be discussed and resolved in a mutually respectful atmosphere taking into account individual circumstances and the individual employee.

By design all of our program managers and principals are “on the floor” so to speak.  They are always ‘close at hand’ to give daily direction and support to staff and students.  Nobody at Genesis Learning Centers sits in an office all day without providing direction to student interaction.

We firmly believe that by communicating with each other directly, we can resolve most difficulties that may arise and develop a mutually respectful relationship.

Quality staff begins with training.  Each school year is begun with 6 to 8 days of pre-service instruction and preparation.  The first two days of pre-service are called “Genesis University”.  We bring all of our staff from each of our programs together and provide training and practice with our Genesis philosophies of working with kids from positive instructional techniques; suicide prevention and awareness; successful counseling methods including behavior management and psychological identifiers of students; aggressive behavior de-escalation and management techniques to first aid and CPR.  Then throughout the school year we have designated in-service days when we provide additional training programs.
